This is quite possibly the biggest week of the year for those of us in the gaming industry. It’s a time to step away from our desks, forget about the next product release, and remember what it was that attracted us to the industry in the first place.
For those of us at Claritics, this year’s GDC is a reminder of how far we’ve come since last year. At GDC 2011, we were little more than bystanders, walking the floors, listening in on sessions, meeting new people — all leading up to our public launch that wouldn’t happen until a month or so later.
Fast forward to GDC 2012, and we couldn’t be more proud of the role we are playing this year. We’ve purchased an exhibit booth in the expo hall, where we’ll be demo’ing the User Intelligence platform that has garnered us so much attention since last year. If you swing by booth #305 in the main expo hall, we would be more than happy to show you the cohort analysis, user segmentation, and funnel analysis capabilities that have won over clients such as TheBroth, Gamester and dozens of others.
But we are even more proud to contribute to the great content at the GDC by hosting a session on Wednesday afternoon titled “Art vs. Science: Fueling the Right Brain with the Left,” in which we’ve brought together prestigious speakers from industry titans such as Zynga, Playdom, TheBroth and Tapjoy to discuss the role that analytics plays in fostering creativity and imagination among game developers.
For certain, it will be a busy show. There will be lessons learned, deals signed, and friends made throughout the week that can change the whole course of a company’s history. Here’s hoping that we can make a positive impact on yours!
