The product engineering team at Claritics has had a very busy start to 2013 and has already cranked out a couple of extremely key releases that feature high value adhoc data discovery oriented feature additions.

Release 3.0 featured the important addition to add any set of attribute filters on funnel steps defined in the funnel. This has been widely welcomed by our customers and provides them a very powerful tool to analyze paths of users with specific properties within their app and interactively discover friction points that prevent further in-game progress that could ultimately result in user fall off and ultimate attrition.

Release 3.1 featured the important ability to interactively analyze any event data (standard or custom) — and thus segment user behavior based on specific patterns seen within any event (new user, virtual product purchases, payments etc.). Our customers get critical insights into their in-app and game mechanics through such analysis. A/B Test results can also be measured using this tool.

GDC 2013 is kicking off this week at San Francisco and we will be there to meet the participants converging in at the event, from various gaming technology related companies. We look forward to meeting and exchanging great ideas about how you could make your games highly successful. Our team members will be mainly in the GDC Expo Hall area. If you are attending GDC this week and would like to meet us, please drop a note to info@claritics.com and we’ll follow up very quickly.

Claritics is proud to welcome ArcadeMonk, an emerging leader in the highly vibrant and growing social and mobile gaming industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as its latest customer. Their recent titles like Bubble Pirates, Kebab World and Sanal Okey have a registered user base into the millions and growing.

ArcadeMonk had tried building out some homegrown analytics solutions for their early games, but needed a faster, easier way to analyze critical user behavioral data that would help them monetize their games earlier in their lifecycle.

“The integration process was very simple and it is very easy to instrument and send the data to the Claritics service. Their analytics platform could easily scale as we grew our users across our various social and mobile game titles” says Omer Bilge Ersoy, CEO, ArcadeMonk.

Within the first 30 days of the implementation, Omer and his team started tracking key metrics like Daily Revenues, ARPU, DAU over MAU and Cohorts Retention %. Most importantly for Omer and his team, Claritics has helped ArcadeMonk to optimize their monetization strategies and do better pricing outreach for individual demographic groups of their users using the powerful segmentation, cohort analysis and revenues analysis tools within the product.

Read more about how ArcadeMonk is leveraging the Claritics User Intelligence platform to drive much higher user engagement and monetization much earlier in their game lifecycle here

Last year we had included the capability to create custom funnels to track and analyze user behavior and conversion in the Claritics platform.

This feature was widely adopted by our customers. The primary use cases for which funnels are used today include,

Beginning with events to create a simple funnel to track conversion (typically a marketer or product developer sets this up)

e.g. new user, accept specific offer, check out

Trending data on this funnel over a 1 wk or 2 wk period to see how conversions are tracking in reality

Validating or invalidating conversions & adding more events into the funnel (for testing hypothesis for new campaigns, product features)

e.g. new user, accept specific offer, add to checkout, checkout, post offer on FB feed

After the initial funnel release, our customers came back to us with the request to do deeper analysis of funnel actions based on metadata relevant for each action/behavior in the funnel.

For e.g.

new user, accept specific offer, check out

new user –> Filter new users based on campaign id through which the new user was acquired

check out –> Filter based on coupon type used at checkout

We are excited to announce the availability of this feature in our platform with our latest release. We call this feature “Metadata Filtering” in Funnels (until of course, the marketing folks come up with a fancier name soon

Happy Funneling !

We are excited to welcome the newest member of our customer club.

Farbflut Entertainment, is a leading online games portal in Germany with millions of loyal gamers worldwide. Its most famous game, Pennergame, features players who collect bottles or junk to recycle, establish gangs and ultimately become owners of prime city real estate.

Farbflut had tried other analytics platforms on the market, but went with Claritics to get fast, easy access to user data for campaign optimization.

Integration was a breeze. “Since the infrastructure for the event tracking was already there, it was just a matter of making sure our events followed the correct format ..” says Farbflut’s BI Analyst, Friedrich Bode.

Beyond the painless integration and configuration, the focused metrics were easy to consume for the entire Farbflut team. In a limited time, the team was able to optimize referral channels to lower their marketing spend. Read more how Farbflut is leveraging the Claritics platform for driving increased engagement and retention across games. Claritics Case Study: Farbflut

When we started out building our Big Data Analytics solutions at Claritics, the long term vision was to make every aspect of the analytics provided extremely actionable and as a result drive key business outcomes from the insights derived. Most BI systems provide great charts and graphs in addition to extremely powerful adhoc analytics tools — but fail to close the loop by which the insights derived can be integrated back into campaign management or targeted offer systems.

With Claritics 2.9, we are happy to announce that a portion of that vision has become a simple and easy to use reality. Marketing and product managers can now follow the results of their ad campaigns on social, mobile and online channels and track the key converting user segments in 3 extremely simple steps :

Instrument for tracking new user registrations with the specific campaign code (via our New User event) — if this is not possible because of platform restrictions (like in iOS), we have an easy alternate by which you can upload offline installs/new user data received from advertisers as described here

Interactively analyze conversions and monetization activity of new users acquired via specific campaigns (while the campaign is in progress) on Facebook, mobile or online apps — using our Campaign Analytics tool

Upon spotting campaigns (or specific periods within them) that show high paying user % conversions, simply hit the ‘Export Paying Users’ button to export the segment list — for easy integration with your campaign or in-app offer/ad management systems by which you can retarget or send a simple ‘Thank You’ message to these converting users

The power of our campaign analytics segmentation tool and its ease of use are best showcased via the 3 simple steps discussed above. Claritics has a deep focus on user behavior and monetization (every marketer wants this done easily but needs to use lots of tools and spreadsheets over many days to get to the gold!) — and provides multiple easy to use user segmentation tools like cohorts, funnels, campaigns etc. as part of its analytics solutions. If you are a digital marketer and are currently having to move mountains of data across siloed tools to get to this extremely valuable information, drop us a line here.

We are excited to announce a strategic partnership with Cloud Squads and the general availability of the Social Media Command Center offering. The Social Media Command Center is a real time analytics product that provides a full 360 view into your multiple support channels and very specifically measures the ROI of your community driven support initiatives via industry tested KPIs and associated best practices.

What’s different about it?

It combines data from multiple support systems : call center system, email support system and social support and community systems to provide a seamless integrated view of support operations. This view is extremely hard to create as data from the various siloed systems needs to be gathered, aggregated, cleansed and many times correlated using non matching user IDs and other behavioral user attributes.

The deep insights and recommendations provided can lead to actionable outcomes — that can drive significant $ savings on call center operations in addition laying the foundations for a robust community of brand and product advocates.

What’s the Real Value for Customers?

Large enterprises have been spending significant time and resources on social initiatives and tools — to build a large social community to reduce support cycle times using the social channel. However they have not had easy tools to measure the ROI and results of these deep investments on an ongoing basis.

With Social Command Center, they now have one place where they can track in real time the value derived from their social investments, make assessments on an ongoing basis and make course corrections as needed to accelerate the integration of the social channel as a key part of the overall support portfolio.

The Burgeoning In-App Economy

The Mobile monetization opportunity is projected to grow upwards of $20 billion in the next 2-3 years. Within that space, the mobile app economy is rapidly moving towards a freemium model where the bulk of the monetization comes through in-app purchases and ads. Freemium apps now generate 69 percent of the worldwide iOS app revenue and 75 percent of global Android app revenues. Meanwhile, premium app revenue from paid download apps have remained relatively flat over the same periods. So if you are a mobile app developer continue reading …

Difficulty in source attribution on Mobile Apps

Tracking the referrers in web ad campaigns is easy (Google Analytics and most web tools do this well) but when it comes to tracking the source of mobile app installs, things get very hard especially on iOS (and other platforms) thanks to the opaqueness of the App Store downloads. Mobile app developers get offline daily or weekly install reports from Ad Networks (Tapjoy, AdMob, Flurry, moPub etc.) after the fact — and this makes it mighty hard to do deeper segmentation and analytics of in-app behavior using the referrer information within most analytics platforms.

So what has Claritics Done to Ease Your Pains

In the recently released Claritics 2.8 version, we have this extremely easy way for you to upload this install information anytime after the fact. The install information provided by the ad networks contains a mutually identifiable user ID (Open UDID or equivalent) with the date of install and the referrer code. Once you upload the file, Claritics intelligently co-relates the various events that have been generated by the users with their origin information uploaded from the CSV — setting the stage for easy deep dive analysis of user engagement and monetization behavior over time into the future.

Easy and Interactive Campaign Analytics and User Segmentation

Armed with this information, app developers and product managers can do interactive user segmentation using cohorts, funnels and campaign analysis tools provided by Claritics to identify their most engaged and monetizing users — based on their referrer origins and hence make more measured and data based choices for future campaign spend with their ad networks. This information can also be used to retarget the users with more focused offers and messages within the mobile app as well.

Claritics partners with the leading gamification platform to provide enterprise-class analytics to customers of Badgeville’s Behavior Platform

Claritics announced today a strategic partnership with Badgeville to deliver best-in-class analytics and campaign optimization solutions to customers of Badgeville’s industry-leading Behavior Platform. The partnership gives companies in retail, publishing, entertainment, healthcare, education, community and other verticals the ability to analyze and harvest insights from Badgeville’s gamification solutions and services in real-time and optimize them to promote further engagement.

Claritics provides Badgeville customers with access to gamification analytics through its User Intelligence platform, designed for end-to-end insights into user behaviors to help customers optimize their engagement rates, social referrals, and overall lifetime user value.

“Badgeville has built an incredibly impressive platform for using gamification strategies to help companies reward any type of user behavior that promotes further brand awareness and intimacy,” said Raj Pai, co-founder and CEO of Claritics. “Our goal is to help those companies get even more value from their gamification efforts by delivering actionable insights that help drive deeper engagement and more lifetime value from each user.”

“Claritics’ user intelligence analytics platform provides very flexible and powerful capabilities to address the needs for marketers to understand how to improve and promote deeper engagement with their customers” said Kris Duggan, Badgeville CEO. “This enables our customers to measure and improve the effectiveness of their gamification strategies in addition to identifying user groups who display highly differentiated behavior for future retargeting campaigns.”

Badgeville’s Behavior Platform captures large amounts of contextual behavior data based on specific user actions on its client’s web properties and applications. This makes it easy for businesses to surface and reward user behavior, creating a more loyal and engaged audience around their key business objectives. Badgeville customers typically experience between 200 to 500 percent increase in metrics such as user-generated content, page views, retention, time on site, and social referrals.

Claritics’ cloud-based User Intelligence platform is capable of analyzing large amounts of user behavioral data on social, mobile and enterprise applications in real-time. The platform can be implemented with little to no development resources and delivers easy-to-understand and actionable outcome oriented analytics. This analysis yields immediate results that can be used to optimize user acquisition, engagement and monetization campaigns.

Today, we are excited about announcing our partnership with Badgeville today.

Badgeville is a leader in the gamification market, and their solution is used by industry leaders like EMC, NBC, Universal Music, Oracle, VMWare, Citrix Systems, Bell Media, and 200+ other marquee customers to drive customer loyalty and user engagement.

The Claritics user intelligence solution is used in the Badgeville Behavior Platform to analyze and harvest real-time insights for user engagement campaigns.

In today’s world, users interact and engage with your brand across social & mobile apps, websites, communities and more. At the center of the social, mobile and SaaS revolution is the “user”. Understanding user behavior and engagement across these channels is job #1 for any marketer and social champion.

Our partnership with Badgeville powers rich enterprise-class analytics and campaign optimization solutions. Gamification sponsors and marketing executives can now harvest end-to-end insights and put them to work for measurable business results (e.g. improve brand advocacy in a community, enhance employee performance, engage users for new product launches, etc).

What do Gamification experts, marketers, and business sponsors get from user intelligence?

User Dashboard

A summary dashboard of key performance indicators tracking engaged users, levels of participation, rewards levels, social activities, customized for the business objective of each gamification initiative.

Engagement

In depth view of specific user behavior patterns across projects and channels to understand what is working and what needs further optimization.

Retention

An easy-to-use snapshot of most loyal or most engaged users and their social behaviors which provides marketers specific insights into how to drive follow-on campaigns and activities.

Why traditional analytics solutions leave you stranded at the door?

They fail to provide in-depth view and metrics of user behavior within your offering or apps

Are typically silo-ed into a single channel view (e.g. web channel only) leaving you to connect the dots

They do not provide easy integration into ongoing campaigns and user engagement programs

Along with Badgeville, we are excited to power the user engagement revolution and provide marketers, business owners and app developers with the key tools needed to understand and harvest user insights, going beyond clicks and page views.

Drop us a line and we would love to hear your experiences.
